Humble Beginings

At the age of 9 (1968) I sewed street hockey jerseys (Leafs and Habs!) and made gollie pads for my friends whilst we played past midnight instead of doing our homework. For as long as I can remember, I've always enjoyed designing and making stuff with leather, saddle stitching by hand, braiding leather, tooling cool designs, making moccasins. Yesteryear (crazy 80's) I made leather belts and handbags, sold them on consignment at Metropolis, a trendy designer store on Queen Street in Toronto and I also made school bags for Peanut Power (kids clothing store) in Toronto and California. I was the master coachtrimmer for a Rolls-Royce and Bentley restoration shop called Kendric Coachworks in Toronto. I also ran "Leather Rescue" a mobile leather repair, cleaning and restoration service for leather clothing. Today, I'm back in the saddle again!!

Saddlery

All leather seats, saddles and saddlebags are made by hand and every item is truly one-of-a-kind. Each piece of leather is stitched with either linen thread that is hand-waxed or I'll use the finest grade nylon tread for areas that will be susceptible to water damage. I also line each saddle bag in leather ("fabric linings are the first thing to go"). At that pace, it takes me about four to five days to make a seat and matching saddlebags for the motorcycle (“ There are not too many companies making leather products by hand, nor will you easily find that kind of quality and service anywhere else”). If vinyl is selected instead of leather, the same attention to detail and selection of quality materials will be given to the project.

Custom-made Leather Accessories

I also design and make leather bags, belts, guitar straps, artist portfolios, and anything else that a customer desires, virtually anything can be made or covered with leather. Please don't ask me to copy other peoples products, like Hermes, Gucci, Prada or Louis Vuitton ...it takes the fun out of being a designer, so let's make something as unique and individual as you are.
